Needs of needy children

More attention should be given to the development needs of children, according to a report by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund Tuesday.

The needs for children's development included nurturing artistic talent, formulating team spirit, and promoting participation and self-expression, which also urged more attention to the psychological needs of children, especially those in difficult situations.

Orphans, for example, lack the warmth and care of a family and the current monthly financial subsidies is not nearly enough, said the report.

The report analyzed a number of charity projects to help people working for children's welfare to take targeted and effective measures.
