
In regard of the event that six types of Korean Nongshim brand instant noodles detected to contain benzopyrene, spokesman of the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) Li Yuanping said on Oct. 30 that the recall of the six types of Nongshim instant noodles in China is underway.
Li said in the AQSIQ routine conference held on the same day that the AQSIQ has communicated with the relevant competent authorities in South Korea to ask the Korean side to make explanations to China on this issue and effectively protect the safety of Chinese consumers.
The Korean side informed AQSIQ on Oct. 26 that Korea Food & Drug Administration decided to implement the recall of the six products of Nongshim Company including Nongshim Spicy Udon Noodle, Nongshim Shrimp Flavor Large Bowl, Nongshim Udon Noodle, Nongshim Shengsheng Udon Bowl, Nongshim Spicy Udon Multi Package, and Nongshim Shengsheng Udon Noodle.
