87% in survey ready to be kind to strangers

Up to 86.7 percent of Chinese people are willing to show kindness to strangers and 27.8 percent say they are very willing, according to a new survey conducted by China Youth Daily.

In the survey of 3,152 people, 61.7 percent believe that by showing kindness to strangers, one can bring out more kindness in others.

Still, 91 percent of the respondents believe that distrust is common among strangers and only 20.4 percent say that they see many people around them express kindness to strangers

Experts attribute the decreasing trust among strangers to the increasing chances of people getting duped in a time when there is more mobility and less supervision among people.
