Natural disasters impact 1.76 mln Chinese in Nov.

BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Natural disasters across China affected 1.762 million in November, official statistics showed on Friday.

Figures released by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the National Committee for Disaster Reduction also showed that one person was killed by natural disasters and 8,000 people were forced to relocate in November.

Last month, the country was hit by snowstorms, earthquakes, windstorms, flooding, frost and sandstorm.

The disasters caused direct economic losses of 3.5 billion yuan (562 million U.S. dollars), with about 1,100 homes demolished and 104,400 hectares of farmland affected, according to authorities.

The financial losses were similar to that in November 2011.
