Woman forced to return mom's ashes
A woman was sentenced to return her mother's ashes to her father, according to Xicheng district court Sunday, the Legal Mirror reported.
The father, surnamed Wang, sold his property when his wife, surnamed Gong, became ill to pay the bills. After Gong died in April, 2012, their eldest daughter took the ashes, and refused to give them to her father until he turned over the money from the property sale.
After negotiations with his daughter failed, Wang sued, claiming damages for mental anguish. The ruling did not mention the damages.
