Four confirmed dead after Hunan capsizal

CHANGSHA, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Four people have been confirmed dead after a boat capsized early on Sunday morning in Anhua County, in central China's Hunan Province, local authorities said on Monday.

As of 6 p.m. on Monday, four bodies have been salvaged and four people remained missing after the boat accident, which occurred at around 3:40 a.m. in waters near Pingshan Village, according to the county's publicity department.

Eleven people were on board the flat-bottomed cargo boat when the accident occurred.

Three people, including the vessel's owner, have been rescued.

Rescuers are continuing to search for the four missing people.

Four trucks the boat was hauling also sank, while one of them has so far been salvaged.
