S China official's falling death confirmed

HAIKOU, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- An official from the municipal People's Congress of the city of Haikou in south China's Hainan province died after falling from a building on Tuesday, the congress confirmed on Friday.

Chen Qiongbo, deputy director of the standing committee of the municipal congress, died after falling from his apartment Tuesday evening, the congress's press office said.

The office did not release details regarding Chen's death, as it is under police investigation.
