Fast-food supplier cleared of 'sick' chickens

Chinadaily.com.cn)  16:44, January 18, 2013

One of China's largest suppliers of meat accused of selling sick chickens to multiple fast-food chains including KFC has been cleared of wrongdoing based on preliminary investigations by local food safety officials. Doyoo Group in Hebi city, Henan province sparked another food safety crisis after it was suspected of processing diseased birds. But an initial investigation by the city's food safety commission said the group is not involved in processing sick or dead chickens in Hebi. Investigations will continue at the group’s other processing sites and farms after a report alleged several thousand birds became sick due to poor conditions. (Photo/Xinhua)
