"Happy School" consisted of 532 volunteers who are university students; they went to Sichuan, Gansu, Yunnan, Guizhou and Chongqing to spend holiday with left-behind children this winter.

"I want to do something for left-behind children, I hope they also can feel they are being loved"; "Just with a small effort, I hope I can bring more joy to them" a volunteer said.

Once the name of "Happy School" in Gansu region was confirmed in December 2012, volunteers raised 150 pairs of gloves, 15 dictionaries, six heating pads, and 50 magazines to donate to left-behind children. Volunteer teams travelled to six cities in Gansu in January, 2013.

As accommodation conditions in countryside were poor, with no heating system during the extremely cold winter, some volunteers suffered the cold, but they were not beaten by the severe weather and transmitted their love and joys to every left-behind child.
