CHANGSHA, April 7 (Xinhua) -- A Saudi Arabian man has been detained for molesting a woman in a canteen in central China's Hunan Province, local police said Sunday.

The 22-year-old man molested the 38-year-old woman in the provincial capital city Changsha early Thursday morning after drinking, according to a statement from the municipal public security bureau.

The police detained the man after a witness informed the police at 6:15 a.m. on Thursday.

The man, who is studying Chinese language at a university in Changsha, confessed to police, according to the statement.

In a similar incident in Beijing in May, a British man was detained by police for allegedly assaulting a Chinese woman on the side of a road in downtown Beijing.
