Pudong bank robber on the run

Shanghai police are hunting for the suspect of an abortive bank robbery that happened this morning in Pudong. The man armed with a knife fled the scene but his robbed money was recovered.

Police said the robbery took place at 11:04am in an Industrial and Commercial Bank of China outlet in Zhangjiang area. The man wielding a knife forced bank workers to hand out their money.

After taking the money, the man tried to flee but others blocked his way. The robbed money was recovered but the man escaped, police said without disclosing the amount of cash.
