Cultural relic sites damaged in Lushan quake

BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- The 7.0-magnitude earthquake that hit Lushan County in southwest China's Sichuan Province on April 20 damaged 196 areas that contain cultural relics, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage said Sunday.

The administration said it has allocated 800,000 yuan (129,789 U.S. dollars) to increase protection for the relics affected by the Lushan quake, adding that it will cooperate with local governments to boost protection for the relics.
