QINGDAO, Dec. 2 -- As of Monday, 126 people injured in last month's deadly oil pipeline explosions in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao were still in hospital, said local health authorities.

Among the hospitalized, seven are in extremely critical condition, one is in critical condition, and 23 are in serious condition, according to Qingdao Municipal Health Bureau.

Ten injured people were discharged from the hospital earlier, said the bureau.

The Qingdao Mental Health Center has started offering counseling services to the injured.

At 3 a.m. on Nov. 22, crude oil began leaking from an underground pipeline operated by Sinopec in Qingdao's Huangdao District.

The spill then flowed into the city's rainwater pipe network, which empties into Jiaozhou Bay. Explosions ripped through residential and commercial roads in Huangdao at around 10:30 a.m. when workers were clearing the spill.

The blasts have taken 55 lives and left nine missing.
