
China's first aircraft carrier "Liaoning" was delivered and commissioned to the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army on Sept. 25, 2012, which is of great and far-reaching significance.
Firstly, the delivery and commission of the first aircraft carrier reflects China's comprehensive national strength, enhances the sense of national pride and promotes people's awareness of maritime rights and interest. Secondly, it raises the level of China’s naval combat power, facilitates national defense modernization and motivates the development of technology and capability-building in defense industry.
