Chinese embassy in Vietnam holds reception celebrating National Day

HANOI, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Embassy of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam held a reception in celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the National Day of China in Vietnamese capital Hanoi on Friday.

Kong Xuanyou, the Chinese ambassador to Vietnam, introduced the recent economic and social development and achievement of China, when addressing the ceremony. He said since last year, confronted with the profound changes in international politics and world economy and the frequent national natural disasters, the Chinese government has taken a positive coping strategy and acquired a 7.8 percent GDP growth in the first half of this year, realizing the scheduled target of the government.

"The China-Vietnam relations maintain a momentum of progressive development with the joint efforts of both sides in recent years," said Ambassador Kong Xuanyou.

"Within half a month's time in September this year, Chinese President Hu Jintao met with Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang; Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. During the meetings, broad consensus on properly handling the maritime disputes, improving and developing bilateral relations and strengthening bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership have been achieved among the leaders."

Bilateral exchange and cooperation in various areas develops in an all-round way with the coordination of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation.

In 2012, the communist parties of the two countries successfully held the Eighth Theory Study, and the two ministries of defense conducted the Sixth Defense Consultation.

The bilateral trade volume from January to August this year amounted to 26.4 billion U.S. dollars. The 286 million U.S. dollars preferential buyer's loan providing by China to Vietnam is now implemented step by step, and the established cooperation projects such as the economic and trade cooperation zone is under construction.
