Lao NA vice president meets China's NPC delegation

VIENTIANE, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Lao National Assembly (NA) Vice President Xaysomphone Phomvihane met with visiting delegation of the China's National People's Congress (NPC), led by Zheng Silin, in Lao capital Vientiane Thursday.

During the meeting, Zheng Silin, vice chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of China's NPC, said China and Laos share a deep traditional friendship, the two countries have conducted effective cooperation in a wide range of areas. The visit aims to further enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

China's NPC is willing to work with Laos to promote the investment of Chinese enterprises in Laos, personnel training, as well as the cooperation with Lao National Assembly, in order to push forward the China-Laos comprehensive, strategic and cooperative partnership, he added.

Xaysomphone Phomvihane, for his part, spoke highly of Zheng's visit and the good relationship and cooperation between the two countries. He thanked China for the support on the seventh Asia- Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting held in Vientiane in early October.

Zheng arrived in Vientiane on Monday for a four-day visit. During the stay, he also met with officials of Foreign Affairs Committee of Laos' National Assembly. Most viewed commentaries
