BEIJING, Jan. 17 (People's Daily Online) -- A Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday that China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) are working to coordinate with a visit by envoys of ROK President-elect Park Geun-hye.
Spokesman Hong Lei made the remark at a daily press briefing.
Hong said China is ready to enhance mutual political trust, cultural exchanges and cooperation with the ROK and thus boost bilateral ties.
He also praised a recent visit to the ROK made by China's special envoy and Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun, who met with the ROK president-elect during the visit.
Park, who won the country's presidential election in December 2012, will replace incumbent ROK President Lee Myung-bak next month.
