BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- A Foreign Ministry spokeswoman on Monday expressed China's strong condemnation of two deadly blasts that occurred in Pakistan on March 3.

"China opposes all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns the blasts," spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a daily press briefing.

China also feels deep sadness for the victims and extends its sincere condolences to the injured and the family members of the victims, she said.

"China firmly supports the unremitting efforts made by Pakistan's government and people to safeguard national stability," she said.

At least 40 people were killed and more than 100 others injured when twin blasts hit a residential area in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Sunday night, according to media reports.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts yet.
