KANDAL, Cambodia, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Monday that he will pay an official visit to China early next month to meet with new Chinese leaders for talks on further enhancing bilateral relations.

The premier said that he is scheduled to meet with President Xi Jinping in Boao, a coastal town in south China's Hainan Province, on April 7 before heading to Beijing on April 8 to hold an official talk with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

"I hope that new Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang will continue to support Cambodia in the development of infrastructure including roads and bridges," Hun Sen said during a groundbreaking for the construction of the 7th Cambodia-China Friendship Bridge in southern Kandal province.

"I am very pleased that Cambodia-China relation has reached the level of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation since 2010 and hope that the relation will be as solid as bridges across the rivers," the premier said, recalling that the two countries' ties were established in 1958 by Cambodia's late former King Norodom Sihanouk and former Chinese President Mao Zedong as well as former Premier Zhou Enlai.

"Now, it is in the period of King Norodom Sihamoni and I will continue to foster the ties with Chinese leaders," he said.
