Chinese embassy women team visits nursery in Yangon on Children's Day

YANGON, June 1 (Xinhua) -- A women team of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, led by wife of Ambassador Madame Ruan Wei, visited a residential nursery in Shwegondaing, Yangon Saturday, the International Children's Day, for a festive call on children accommodated in the nursery.

The Chinese embassy women team presented daily necessities, milk powder, beverage, food, rice and edible oil to the 89 children ranging up to 8 years of age housed in the nursery set up by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.

Led by the headmistress of the nursery, the women team conducted the nursery and distributed to the children festive gifts and embraced with the children.

The residential nursery was established in 1952 caring for such categories of children as abandoned children, orphaned children and socially or economically disadvantaged children.

There are five such residential nurseries in Myanmar set up by the ministry.
