Thai Princess meets Chinese FM on bilateral friendly relations

BANGKOK, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on Friday held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on bilateral friendly relations.

The princess said the royal family of Thailand treasures the friendly ties between China and Thailand and bears deep in heart the profound friendship the Chinese government and people have shown to the Thai people.

She called on the two nations to deepen friendly ties between the two peoples and increase exchanges in various areas such education, culture and science.

Lauding the support given by the Thai royal family to China- Thailand relationship, Wang said Princess Sirindhorn, who is recognized as envoy of China-Thailand friendship, has made remarkable contribution to cementing friendly ties between the two peoples.

According to the minister, China highly values the precious friendly ties it has built with the Thai royal family over the years and stands ready to work with Thailand to further deepen their traditional friendship.

China will also step up efforts to increase people-to-people exchanges with the Thai side and consolidate the social foundation of their relationship, he said.
