Chinese vice premier meets Vietnamese delegation

BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli said here Tuesday that China is ready to advance the all-round strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam in a long-term, healthy and stable way.

Zhang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), made the comment as he met with a delegation of the Vietnamese Communist Party (CPV). The delegation is headed by Pham Quang Nghi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPV Central Committee and Party chief of Hanoi.

Zhang said reinforcing and strengthening relations between the two countries and their ruling parties are in conformity with the basic interests of both nations and their peoples.

He said the CPC and Chinese government view China-Vietnam relations highly and with a long-term view.

He expressed the readiness to work with the CPV and Vietnamese government to enhance mutual trust, learn from each other's experience in governing the country and building the party, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and properly address differences.

Pham Quang Nghi said the two countries and their ruling parties share a friendship. He said in recent years, the two sides have maintained frequent contact and continuously increased bilateral cooperation.

He said the exchange of experience between the CPV and CPC has played an important role in advancing the development of bilateral links. The Vietnamese side is ready to join efforts with China to promote growth of bilateral relations to new levels.

On Tuesday, Nghi also met with Wang Jiarui, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
