China, Mauritania vow to cement military ties

BEIJING, Nov. 15 -- Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan met Friday with visiting chief of general staff of the National Army of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Mohemd Ahmed, vowing to strengthen bilateral military cooperation.

Chang, also a state councilor, hailed the sound momentum of bilateral military cooperation over the years, vowing joint efforts with Mauritania to strengthen military relations.

Mohamed said the armed forces of Mauritania are ready to work with the Chinese side to enhance cooperation in various areas.
