BEIJING, Dec. 9 -- A seminar on "international situation and Chinese diplomacy" was held at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in Beijing Monday.
Over 20 experts and scholars from China's institutions and universities exchanged views on the major current issues in the field of domestic and international politics and economics.
Top class specialists on international relations made speeches concerning the hot topics of world political situation and economic situation, such as new type relationship between major powers, China-Japan relations, ADIZ, relations between U.S. and European allies after intelligence surveillance, Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), FTA talks and U.S. rebalance policy toward the AsiaPacific region, etc..
They also raised qustions and exchanged views on the issues of common interests including Diaoyu Islands sovereignty, Syrian crisis, Iranian nuclear issue in open discussion section.
The forum was initiated by CASS’s journal "World Economics and Politics". Sponsored by CASS, the academic periodical focuses on the major current issues in the field of domestic and international politics and economics and has a substantial impact on the international relations circle.
Zhang Yuyan, director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) within the CASS addressed the seminar and chaired the first dialogue session.
The following three parts were cochaired by Ruan Zongze who is the vice president of China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), Chen Zhimin, the dean of the School of International Relations and Public Affairs in Fudan University, Li Dongyan, the director of Global Governance Research Division in IWEP of CASS.
