Three new subway lines to open in Beijing before July 20

Three new subway lines will be opened in Beijing before July 20 to improve Beijing's public transportation capacity, said Zhou Zhengyu, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Committee of Communications on July 13.

It is reported that among these three subway lines, the Olympic Branch Line (a section of Subway Line 8) runs 5.9 km in length and includes four stations. It will provide direct service for the Beijing Olympic Games. Subway Line 10 is 24.6 km in length and includes 22 stations. The Airport Line is 28.1 km in length; has four stations; and is a transit line for flight passengers.
