Guest: Mr. Michael O'Sullivan, Secretary General, European Union Chamber of Commerce in China

China's economy has been growing rapidly for more than 20 years. The market here is still growing and changing every day. The most tremendous change, however, may have happened in the past six years following China's membership into the World Trade Organization.

It is a good time to look back upon the first year after the end of China's WTO transitional period. It is also a good time to look ahead when the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which concluded a few days ago, has pledged to have its economy based more on an environmentally-friendly sustainable growth model.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce was founded in October 2000, one year before China joined the World Trade Organization. The Chamber had 51 members when it was established. Now it represents 1,100 European businesses in China. The Chamber has been watching and recording their experience in China over the years. What are the implications of their experience for the past and future exploration of the world's largest emerging market?

Mr. O'Sullivan will give his insights into changes in the business environment in China over the past few years and the prospect of doing business here in the years to come.
