The Ministry of Public Security has announced expanded security for the upcoming plenary sessions of the National People's Congress, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Usually, six provincial-level regions around Beijing strengthen their security levels during the two sessions in March. Liaoning, Hebei, Shanxi and Shandong provinces, as well as Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Tianjin municipality. This year, several other areas, including Gansu, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Henan provinces, Ningxia Hui and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regions, will also have heightened security.

For two weeks, all these areas will be coordinating together to ensure that things run smoothly.
