American books published in early 1900s shows Diaoyu Island is China’s territory

A civil collector from Taiyuan, north China’s Shanxi province, exhibited his collected book The Uplift of China on April 20, 2014. The book, published in 1907, was written by Arthur Henderson Smith (1845-1932), a famous American missionary in China. The last page of the book is a map that clearly shows “Tia-yu-su” as the Chinese territory, which strongly refutes Japan’s claim on the Diaoyu Island.
