On April 30, a 12 year-old boy Xiaobao was hospitalized in Beijing due to heart failure and could only be kept alive on a ventilator. Doctors said that the boy needed heart transplantation.

It was rather difficult to get an appropriate heart. Just at that time, a 21-year-old man Xiaoye died in south China's Guilin and his family members decided to donate his organs to save others.

At 5 p.m., May 2, doctors took out Xiaoye's heart in Guilin and sent it to Beijing within three hours. Then doctors in Beijing conducted heart transplantation for Xiaobao successfully.

On May 4, Xiaobao came to life. The boy is recovering.

Xiaoye's family members donated his organs, including his kidneys, liver, heart and corneas.

Transplantation of these organs has been successful and four lives have been saved.
