The High-tech Zone constructs world-class software R&D research base

On 24 July, 2 research centers of Samsung Group, i.e. Samsung Electronics R&D Research Center and Samsung Data R&D Research Center, settled in the High-tech Zone of Xi’an at the same time. They will engage in high-end R&D businesses including mobile phone terminal, smart DTV and semiconductor, and provide group headquarters and overseas market with global outsourcing businesses. In the future, the 2 research centers will have 1600 staff in total, adding “chip” motive power for the software industry in the High-tech Zone. Before then, the High-tech Zone just honored 421 projects and 175 enterprises in the zone with over RMB60 million software industry supportive fund.

Obviously, the good trend that the enterprises and the park work together and complement each other already has taken shape in the High-tech Zone.

In recent years, the software and service outsourcing industry in the High-tech Zone has been in a rapid growth of over 35% all the time, and gathered more than 90% of software and information service enterprises of Xi’an. Meanwhile, Xi’an Software Park also quickly increases its ranking and competitiveness, and becomes the advanced park in the first echelon of national software parks.

As of the end of 2012, there are more than 1260 software and information technology service enterprises and 115000 staff in the High-tech Zone. The software and service outsourcing industry achieves a business income of RMB78.83 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 35.1%.
