Ni Zhengdong, CEO of Zero2IPO, pointed out the positive sign of China’s market in 2013 at the 4th China CEO Summit in Beijing, Dec. 18, 2013.

Not so cold for this winter

During his speech, Ni stressed that although people did not hold positive views early this year, it turns out that the entire VC (venture capital) fund-raising has exceeded over 60 billion U.S. dollars, and PE (Private Equity) raising more than 200 billion dollars this year, VC and PE together amounted to nearly 400 billion U.S. dollars, takes 70 percent of total amount raised in the highest record year 2011.

People could feel the harshness about the market early this year. But soon after the third-quarter figures were out, people started to see their upcoming spring. The total amount of VC and PE raised by October can reach 200 billion yuan, which is 70 percent to 75 percent of the history record. The coldest winter has gone.

What’s after the trend?

Ni made a metaphor that a pig can fly when there is strong wind, which means many companies can reach the immediate success when following the right trend at the right time. But how to land safely is another problem to consider. From the web 2.0 in 2005 to e-commerce in 2007 and to Mobile Internet era now, market is about changes; it is always important to figure out how to survive through and after the trend.
