TOKYO, Oct. 21 -- The U.S. dollar traded in the upper 106 yen range early Tuesday morning in Tokyo deals, little changed from its overnight levels in New York.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 106.89-91 yen compared with 106.90-107.00 yen in New York and 107.07-08 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday.

The euro fetched 1.2793-2795 dollars and 136.77-78 yen against 1.2795-2805 dollars and 136.83-93 yen in New York and 1.2768-2769 dollars and 136.71-75 yen in Tokyo late Monday afternoon.
