Animal Fossils Found in Hubei

Chinese archeologists recently excavated a large number of fossils of animal teeth and bones in Danjiangkou City in south China's Hubei Province.

The fossils, which were unearthed in Luzui village, were scattered over a five-square kilometer area.

Archaeologists are conducting research on the fossils to determine the animal types and when they lived.

A local archeologist said the historical site as well as the fossils will provide valuable clues for archaeological research on animals living there in primitive times.

Near the village are many archaeological sites where rare, ancient animal fossils, including dinosaur eggs, have been unearthed.
