China Executive Council of Macao SAR Discusses Draft Laws

The Executive Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) held its third meeting in Macao on November 17 to discuss the drafts of four laws and two administrative statutes.

The draft laws and administrative statutes are necessary legal documents in the Macao SAR which will be founded on December 20 this year.

The four drafts cover the definition and residence right of permanent Macao residents, the application of nationality of the People's Republic of China by Macao SAR residents, the use and protection of China's National Flag, Emblem and Anthem, and the use and protection of the Macao SAR's regional flag and emblem.

After being discussed among the Executive Council members, the drafts will be passed on to the Legislative Council of the SAR for examination.

The administrative statutes are about the way to issue the passport and travel document of the Macao SAR, and the way of putting up national and regional flags together and putting up national and regional emblems together.

The statutes will be approved and promulgated by the chief executive of the Macao SAR.
