China Nanjing Man Dated Back 500,000 Years Ago

The fossilized skull of Nanjing Man has been preliminarily confirmed by Chinese scientists to date back more than 500,000 years ago.

The fossilized skull was found in 1993 in Tangshan Town in eastern suburbs in Nanjing. The discovery is among other great archaeological discoveries such as Peking Man, Yuanmou Man in southwest China's Yunnan Province, and Lantian Man in northwestern Shaanxi Province.

The skull of Nanjing Man is of great importance in the study of human evolution, and is also significant in the research of human physiology.
