Culture Santa Claus Fairyland in NE China's Changchun City

On Christmas Eve, Chinese residents and foreign visitors in Changchun, capital of Jilin Province, will have a chance to enjoy the holiday in the city's newly-built entertainment center--the Santa Claus Fairyland.

With traditional Christmas music accompanying them, visitors to the park can dance in North Pole Square with waltzing cartoon characters.

The 10 million yuan (about 1.2 million US Dollars) park is modeled after a Santa Claus Village in northern Finland and features western-style architecture.

The park has three major sections: Santa Claus Village, Finland Village and North Pole Village. It will host an all-night gala on December 24, the day of its opening.

The entertainment center, the first of its kind on a theme of Christmas and Santa Claus, is located in the Jingyuetan forest park, which has Asia's largest forestry center and China's biggest ski slopes.
