China Jiang Zemin's Inscription for PLA Troops to Be Stationed in Macao SAR

Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) Jiang Zemin recently wrote an inscription for the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops to be stationed in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

Jiang's inscription reads "Carry out the Fine Tradition of the PLA and Build A Strong Army with Dignified Soldiers." CMC Vice- Chairman Zhang Wannian and CMC Vice-Chairman and Defense Minister Chi Haotian also wrote inscriptions for the troops.

China will resume its exercise of sovereignty over Macao on December 20. Troops stationed in Macao will be under the leadership of the CMC and will be in charge of defending the Macao SAR.
