People of the financial sector in Macao organized a grand concert in Macao Tuesday night to mark the founding of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on December 20.

Some 80 musicians from the inland areas of China presented a dozen pieces of famous Chinese and foreign music at the Macao Cultural Center.

Before the performance began, a 99-meter-long painting was presented to the Macao SAR government.

Invited by a committee of Macao financial people for celebrating Macao's return to the motherland, a total of 99 Chinese painters had participated in the painting.

"Amid the first lights of a new century, Macao has returned to the embrace of the motherland and started a new era," said Zhu Chi, chairman of the celebrating committee.

He noted that people in the financial sector would work together with local residents to build a brighter future of Macao.
