Culture Harbin Hosts Snow Sculpture Fair

The 12th Harbin Snow Sculpture Fair is underway in the capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. On display at the fair are more than 260 snow sculptures, made from a total 18,000 cubic meters of snow, said a local official.

The annual gala opened a week ago in a park on Sun Island.

A large number of snow sculptors from all over the world have contributed their works to the fair, themed "Romance of Snow and Wind of the New Century."

Programs on classical art and international exchanges will be held and are expected to attract hundreds of thousands of tourists from both at home and abroad.

The fair will end on February 14 next year.
