Culture People in and out of Hong Kong over Seven Million on Spring Festival Days

Statistics of HK SAR Entry Department tell there are as many as more than seven million people who have in and out of Hong Kong during the half month around the lunar Spring Festival days this year to show an all-time record figure over the past years.

Specific statistics say people in and out of Hong Kong numbered about 7.072 million between January 28 and February 13, including 5.738 million who have been in and out by land to show 16 percent growth over the same period of last year.

According to news reports, HK has seen recurrent human tides of entry and exit during the Spring Festival days in recent years for closer ties that have it has formed with the mainland. Apart from going on family visits, it has become popular among HK citizens to go on holiday leave in Shenzhen and Pearl River Delta for shopping or sightseeing.
