Evidence of Japanese War-time Atrocities Revealed

A cream-colored overcoat for Japanese Northeast Army as marked "made in 1939" was uncovered in Shenyang yesterday. After 61 years and through times of washing, the bloodstains on the coat can still be clearly discerned.

The shoulder of the army overcoat was made of white rabbit hair, feeling soft and sleek and the bottom front of artificial fur. Huang Guoping, the collector of the coat, said that the local-made Japanese overcoat is specially made according to the weather conditions in Northeast China.

Huang Guoping received the overcoat yesterday, which was posted from Beijing. The coat was originally kept by one of his former comrades-in-arms who has gone abroad recently. "I have been keeping this coat for 61 years, which recorded the atrocities committed by Japanese Army in its invasion of Northeast China", said his comrade in arms.

Huang Guoping introduced that Hao Laishun, father of his comrade-in-arms, was a company commander in the Northeast Allied Forces for Resistance Against Japan. The original owner of the overcoat is Sato Tugiiti, a squad leader in Japanese Northeast Army, who, leading a group of Japs was slaughtering and plundering in Xunke County, Heilongjiang Province. The Chinese Northeast Allied Forces decided to destroy the Sato Squad. After a thorough planning, Hao Laishun and his comrades besieged Sato and other Japanese and finally wiped out all of them. The Allied Forces lost three comrades too. After shooting Sato down, Hao Laishun took off his overcoat as a war trophy and evidence as well to prove the crimes by Japanese Army in Northeast China.

Zhang Yibo, Chairman of the September 18th Study Association said in 1939, the War of Resistance Against Japan run into a hard time when millions of Japanese invading soldiers converged in Northeast China. The overcoat is seldom seen object so far as its great historic significance is concerned.
