Trading in Options on Tracker Fund to Begin on March 27

Trading in options on Tracker Fund of Hong Kong (TRF) will begin on March 27, announced the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Monday.

Options on Tracker Fund offer another form of risk management tools for Tracker Fund Investors, said the announcement. TRF is a massive share portfolio acquired by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government during its counter attacks against market stipulation in August 1998.

The fund, listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong on November 12 last year, received strong support from the people in Hong Kong as well as institutional investors.

The fund is designed to provide investment results that closely correspond to, or track, the performance of the benchmark Hang Seng Index.
