First Postgraduates of Beijing Opera Hold Graduation Ceremony

The first class of postgraduate students studying the Peking Opera held their graduation ceremony March 29.

Ding Guangen, a member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Political Bureau, attended the ceremony, congratulating the graduates.

In October 1996, the 26-member postgraduate class was approved by the Ministry of Culture and sponsored by the Academy of Chinese Operas.

Also present at the ceremony were Minister of Culture Sun Jiazheng and a group of well-known Beijing Opera artists including Yuan Shihai.
