98th Birthday of Zhong Jingwen Felicitated

Academic circles gathered March 28 to celebrate the 98th birthday of Zhong Jingwen, famous folk literature, folk custom expert and professor serving at Beijing Normal University. Seen off the press and under circulation now is also the work "Chinese Folk Culture Study Series" under his editorship.

Zhong Jingwen is a Chinese scholar among those in founding the theoretical basis for making a pioneer study of Chinese fold literature and custom culture. Since he began making a study of the theory, editing and collection of Chinese folk literature from the 1920s, Zhong has played a guiding role in bringing about a resurrection and development of Chinese folk literature.
