Twelve Plots of Cultural Green Lands Make Beijing Prettier

As learned from Beijing Forestry Bureau the locations of the concentrated green lands in city proper of Beijing were fixed to cover a total area of 48 hectare, 17 hectares more than last year.

Twelve plots of green-land will cultivated in eight city districts, namely 1.25 ha. at the eastern side of south opening of Beizhongzhou Road, 1.5 ha. at Guanyuan, 13.5 ha. at Dongbianmen Triangular land, 1 ha. at Shoupakoubei Street, 1 ha. in Roman Garden, 3 ha. at Sunshine Square, 3 ha. at Shuidui, 1.1 ha. at Wanyeyuan Real Estate Development, 15 ha. at China New Millenium Altar, 2 ha. in Cuilin District, 4.4 ha. in Shij+ingshan Green Square, 2 ha. Haite Greenery Square. Except the green land in Dongbianmen, all will be completed before the National Day.

The Xidan Cultural Square built last year enjoys the reputation of a "Green Pearl" in the Chang'an Avenue. Every green land built this year will be endowed with a certain cultural connotation.

With its National Anthem Square and Century Bell studded there the green-land of 15 ha. at the New Millenium Altar is to show the national pride and the historical mission of the Chinese nation; The Tianyuan Square which has recently just invited international bidding is to embody the conception of nature that "Heaven is round and Earth's square" and the cosmic view of "the integration of heaven and humans"; Dongbianmen green-land highlights the ancient city scene.
