China Strongly Resents Tokyo Governor's Remarks: FM Spokesman

China has expressed its strong resentment over the "evil remarks" of Shintaro Ishihara, governor of Tokyo, who claims that China is Japan's biggest threat, China's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sun Yuxi said.

"We express strong resentment over Shintaro Ishihara who once again publicly made evil remarks against China and the Chinese people," Sun said in response to a question concerning the Tokyo governor's recent statement to the German media.

In the interview with the German media, Ishihara asserted that China is Japan's biggest threat, and therefore, should be divided into several small countries, and Japan should do its part to promote this.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Ishihara's remarks are in direct line with the vicious intentions of Japanese militarists who once attempted to divide and annex China. this once again reveals Ishihara as an element of the remnants of militarism.

Since the founding of New China and especially since China began its reform and opening up drive, the country's economy has been developing rapidly and the Chinese people's lives have been constantly improved.

"Facts have proved, and will continue to prove, that no force whatsoever can stop the development of China," Sun stressed.

"Ishihara's wild remarks are but the dream of a slow-witted manand will never come true," Sun said.
