Domestic Investment Increases in Shanghai

The number of companies set up in Shanghai by investors from other parts of China reached 221 during the first quarter of the year, involving 2.3 billion yuan in registered capital.

The enterprises include 157 involved in manufacturing, trade, catering and social services. Thirty-six of these enterprises are backed by private investors.

Neighboring Zhejiang Province ranks first in funding 37 enterprises in Shanghai, followed by Jiangsu Province with 36 companies and Beijing with 33 firms.

In terms of registered capital, Shenzhen took the lead with 540 million yuan, followed by Zhejiang province with 460 million yuan.
