An Insolent Move Finds Little Support

The defeat of US' ninth anti-China motion at the 56th conference of the UN Human Rights Commission shows the act of politicizing the issue of human rights and inciting antagonism on the same issue is unpopular.

On April 18, the 56th conference of the United Nations Human Rights Commission decided to reject the resolution draft of the so-called China's human rights situation put forward by the United States. This is the ninth time that the UN human rights conference has turned down the anti-China proposal since 1990.

Since the conclusion of the Cold War, the United States has plotted its anti-China motion at the UN human rights conference nine times, but were defeated each time. The fact that the United States has used the human rights issue as its political and diplomatic tool for nine times to incite confrontation reflects its deep-rooted hegemonist psychology on the issue of moral value; the ninth defeat of its anti-China motion at the human rights conference reflects the popular feeling of the international community. The act of politicizing the question of human rights and fanning up confrontation on the same issue is unpopular.

Struggle at the just concluded human rights conference shows the following two characteristics:

First, when the United States tabled the anti-China motion, it became a real loner, because it did this single-handedly, it was indeed single and alone.

Second, the US anti-China motion was in a seriously "aphasic" state, it could create no more anti-China words, so it made a great fuss about the cult of "Falun Gong", a heretic organization. It is well known that heresy is a social malignant tumor that is against science, humanity, society and government. In recent years, heresy has repeatedly committed crimes harming people in the world and has thus aroused extensive anxiety and concern among various countries around the world, which have adopted conscientious control and preventive measures one after another. On the question of preventing and controlling heresy, the United States has taken the most extreme measures by using guns, cannons and armored cars, causing great casualties. In dealing with "Falun Gong" practitioners, China has adopted the method of education and conversion, with the result that over 98.5 percent of them have returned to normal life. Making a comparison between the two, one may ask what right does the United States have to criticize China?

Prejudice is removed even farther away from truth than ignorance. The United States repeated instigation of antagonisms and disputes at the UN human rights conferences was out of certain domestic political needs as well as its stubborn "moral imperialist" psyche and of the so-called international strategy characteristic of national egoism The arrogant acts of the US type have aroused resentments not only among the developing countries, but also among many European nations, the United States should learn a profound lesson from this.

Human right is the ideal of value of all mankind. The cause of human rights needs to be jointly pushed and safeguarded by various countries around the world. Under their respective historical and cultural conditions and in light of their respective national situations, the people of various countries will boost the development of the human rights cause, at the same time, they will promote the human rights cause of all mankind through equal dialog and cooperation. That is the level road and right way for the cause of human rights. In the cause of human rights, there should not be and it is not allowed to have the hegemonic psychology of occupying a commanding position and descending down upon others, there should not be and it is not allowed to have double standards and other unjust actions, there should not be and it is not allowed to have political operation and utilization actuated by ulterior motives. The US anti-China motion is a hotchpotch featuring the above-mentioned hegemonic psychology, injustice and political utilization, and is a blasphemy against and misguiding of the sacred international human rights cause.

Since 1990, the United States has staged eight anti-China farces at the UN human rights conference, the anti-China farce this time again was a stillbirth--the curtain fell before the farce started. The collapse of the anti-China farce reflects the popular feeling and the just voice of the international community. The repeated plots for anti-China farces indicate that there are invariably diehards in the world, who are bent on poisoning the atmosphere of the international human rights cause, and obstructing dialog and cooperation in the human rights field, this merits the vigilance and attention of the kind-hearted people.

As the saying goes: One must not do anything more than three times. The United States has staged nine anti-China farces at the UN human rights conferences, its appearance of lacking words to justify itself has been thoroughly laid bare. What's the taste for it to take out its tattered cap every year? It's time for the United States to stop doing that.
