Beijing Police Crack Down on Pickpockets

Beijing police have launched a battle against pickpockets on the city's buses in an effort to create a safer travel environment for residents during the upcoming seven holidays for International Labor Day.

A source from the public transport branch of the Beijing Public Security Bureau said that some 70 pickpockets were nabbed by police on buses yesterday.

The anti-pickpockets campaign started on the No. 300 bus line, where pickpockets were frequently reported, the source said.

All buses in the Chinese capital are now under close police supervision.
