HK Ready for 49th PATA Annual Conference

Hong Kong has got ready for the 49th Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) annual conference that will commence at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on Monday.

Some 1,200 delegates from 46 countries and regions have so far registered for the conference, with most of them representing government tourism bodies, airlines, and travel industry firms.

For the next three days, the delegates will hear from experts on topics including hotel technology, investment, aviation development and sustainable tourism.

"Our aim is for members to come away from this conference with information and contacts they need to conduct business more effectively right now as well as into the future," said Joseph A. Mclnerney, chief executive officer of PATA.

Founded in 1951, PATA is a recognized authority on Pacific Asia travel and tourism. PATA members include 38 national governmental tourism agencies, over 50 state and local tourism bodies, 65 air carriers and cruise lines, and more than 2,000 travel companies.
